For a long time, I’ve always wanted to move from cloud service providers to a home lab. However, I don’t have access to my router at home, and without it I was struggling to figure out the best way to setup a secure way to access my homelab remotely. While I was aware of Cloudflare tunnels and the like, I did a lot of research to find something fairly easy to use. Enter Olares.

• alternatives - easypanel -> closed source, $10.90/month -> can install whatever apps u want tho
• initial setup, old laptop - backing up w/ rescuezilla - flashing olares - larepass app
• accessing it through browser
• installing immich - moving from google photos to immich
• installing jellyfin - adding media from cds & dvds to jellyfin
• obsidian - sync w/ cryptomator
